Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 657734  Size: SH
  1. Release the fuel filler door (4).
  2. Remove the fuel filler pocket (1). Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement .
  3. Mark the location of the door hinge with a wax pencil in order to assure proper alignment after reassembly.
  4. Remove the 2 nuts from inside the body panel.
  5. Remove the door (4).
  6. Disengage the fuel cap release strap from the fuel filler door.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 657734  Size: SH
  1. Secure the fuel cap release strap to the filler door.
  2. Position the door (4) to the alignment marks made during removal.
  3. Install the 2 nuts in order to secure the door (4) to the body panel.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Adjust the alignment of the door, to a 3 mm gap around the entire door.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the 2 nuts (3) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Inspect the alignment, readjust the door as necessary.
  8. Install the fuel filler pocket (1). Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement .
  9. Close the fuel filler door (4).
