Removal Procedure
  1. Move the seat full forward.

    2. Object Number: 593261 Size: SH
  2. Remove the carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Pull back the carpeting in order to access the lap retractor anchor bolt.
  4. Remove the bolt securing the lap retractor to the inner rocker.

    5. Object Number: 161034 Size: SH
  5. Remove the fastener from the headrest guide loop on the set back and slip the belt out of the guide.
  6. Remove the quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  7. Disengage the shoulder belt to the headlining cover.
  8. Remove the courtesy/reading lamps. Refer to Roof Rail Rear Courtesy Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.

    9. Notice: Use care when removing and installing the headliner. If reusing the headliner lay the headliner down flat on a clean surface. Excessive bending will damage the headliner.

  9. Lower the rear corner of the headlining as required in order to gain access to the roof retractor bolts. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  10. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  11. Remove the retractor bolts.
  12. Remove the shoulder belt retractor assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 161026 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the shoulder belt retractor and bolts.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  2. Connect the electrical connector.
  3. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  4. Install the courtesy/reading lamps. Refer to Roof Rail Rear Courtesy Lamp Replacement .
  5. Install the shoulder belt to the headlining cover.
  6. Install the quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

    7. Object Number: 161034 Size: SH
  7. Install the seat belt into the shoulder belt guide loop and the screw securing the guide loop.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the shoulder belt guide loop screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

    Important: Ensure the anti-rotation tab on the retractor is positioned into the hole in the inner rocker panel and the seat belt is not twisted.

  8. Install the floor retractor.

    9. Object Number: 161038 Size: SH
  9. Install the floor retractor anchor bolt.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the retractor anchor bolts to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  10. Install the carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  11. Reposition the seat.
