Removal Procedure

  1. Ensure the window is in the full up position.

  2. Object Number: 319920  Size: SH
  3. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  5. Remove the lock rod shield (1) from the module.

  6. Object Number: 657121  Size: SH
  7. Unsnap the clip to the handle rod.
  8. Remove the lock rods from the lock.
  9. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  10. Remove the 3 fasteners.
  11. Remove the lock assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 319920  Size: SH

    Important: Hold the lock assembly tight against the door facing prior to torquing the fasteners.

  1. Install the lock assembly (1) to the door.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the 3 fasteners.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connectors.
  6. Important: The lock rod retainer clips distort easily. The retainer clips should be replaced if damaged during the removal procedure.

  7. Secure the lock rod and door handle rod (3) to the lock assembly.
  8. Engage the retainer clips.
  9. Install the lock rod shield (2).
  10. Install the water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  11. Install the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
