Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .

    3. Caution: Eye protection must be worn when drilling rivets to reduce the chance of personal injury.

  3. Perform the following steps in order to remove the rivets (2) :
    4. 3.1. Center punch a depression in the head of the rivet (2).
    3.2. Drill out the rivet using a 4.8 mm (0.188 in) drill bit.
  4. Remove the inside remote handle (1) by disengaging the tabs on the handle assembly from the slots in the module assembly.
  5. Carefully guide the power door lock switch electrical connector from the door handle.
  6. Remove the lock rods from the handle (1).
  7. Remove the door handle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 319836 Size: SH
  1. Install the lock rods to the handle (1).
  2. Install the inside remote handle (1) to the module assembly by placing the tabs on the handle assembly into the slots in the module.
  3. Install the rivets (2) using 4.8 mm (0.188 in) peel type rivets.
  4. Reposition the power door lock switch electrical connector to the door handle.
  5. Ensure the lock rods are secured to the anti-rattle clips attached to the door.
  6. Check the door handle operation.
  7. Install the water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  8. Install the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
