Go to Step 2

Go to Symptoms - Doors

2

Verify that the Power Mirrors-Passenger Mirror Tilt Inoperative in Reverse complaint is present.

Does the power mirrors system operate as described in the system description and operation?

--

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

3

  1. Disconnect the mirror connector of the memory mirror module (MMM)
  2. Using a digital multimeter (DMM) measure the resistance between the mirror drive circuits of the RH vertical mirror motor.

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?

2-8 ohms

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 8

4

Measure the resistance between each of the two drive circuits of the RH vertical mirror motor and any other circuit in the harness connector.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

OL

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

5

Test the RH vertical mirror motor drive circuits for shorts to other circuits and to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 12

Go to Step 6

6

  1. Reconnect the MMM harness connector.
  2. Make sure that any other MMM harness connectors remain connected.
  3. Disconnect the harness connector containing the vertical mirror motor circuits fromt the RH outside rearview mirror
  4. Turn the ignition ON.
  5. Attach a DMM to the vertical motor drive circuits of the harness connector.

Disregarding polarity, does the voltmeter indicate the voltage specified?

9-14 V

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 7

7

While observing the DMM, command the mirror to move by putting the transmission in REVERSE.

Disregarding polarity, does the DMM indicate the voltage specified?

9-14 V

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 11

8

Test the drive circuits for shorts or opens. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?
