Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.
- Disable the SIR coil. Refer to
SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3
.
- Remove the steering wheel from the column. Refer to
Steering Wheel Replacement.
- Remove the steering column from the vehicle. Refer to
Steering Column Replacement.
- Inspect the steering column for accident damage. Refer to
Steering Column Accident Damage Inspection.
- Remove the upper and lower trim cover. Refer to
Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement.
- Disconnect all connectors attached to the wire harness assembly.
Installation Procedure
Important: When guide the wires out through the hole at the center of the steering wheel, pull the wires outward tightly to prevent them from wrapping under the steering wheel. Refer to

Important: When adjust the directions of harness, pressure with finger should be downward and far away from the center of the steering wheel, to avoid push the harness to the center of the steering wheel or back into the hole, and
prevent them from wrapping under the steering wheel. Refer to

.
- Slide the bulkhead connector into the column shift and tilt motor bracket assembly.
- Connect all of the connectors to the wire harness assembly.
- Install the upper and lower trim cover. Refer to
Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
- Install the steering column into the vehicle. Refer to
Steering Column Replacement.
- Install the steering wheel onto the steering column. Refer to
Steering Wheel Replacement.
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to
SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3
.
