Circuit/System Description

When the content theft deterrent (CTD) system arms and the inclination sensor is enabled, the rear integration module (RIM) receives a power-up acknowledgement from the inclination sensor via the inclination sensor signal circuit.

Conditions for Running the DTC

    • The inclination sensor is enabled
    • The CTD system has armed

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The RIM does not receive the power-up acknowledgement from the inclination sensor

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The RIM will ignore all inputs from the inclination sensor for the remainder of the CTD system arming cycle

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

A current DTC will clear when the RIM receives a power-up acknowledgement from the inclination sensor during the next CTD system arming cycle

Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the RIM. Disconnect the harness connector at the inclination sensor.
  2. Verify a test lamp does not illuminate between the signal circuit terminal 3 at the inclination sensor and B+.
  3. If the test lamp illuminates, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
  4. Test for less than 2 ohms between the signal circuit terminal 3 at the inclination sensor and the signal circuit terminal 10 at the RIM X2 harness connector.
  5. If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance.
  6. Ignition ON, verify a test lamp does not illuminate between the signal circuit terminal 3 at the inclination sensor and ground.
  7. If the test lamp illuminates, test the signal circuit for a short to B+.
  8. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the inclination sensor.
