Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  2. Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

       • Air bag deployment
       • Personal injury
       • Unnecessary SIR system repairs
    In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
       • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
       • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable to avoid accidental starting of the engine. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  4. Remove the Throttle Body Assembly. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 18398  Size: SH
  6. Remove the TP sensor (3) mounting screws from the TP sensor (2).
  7. Remove the TP sensor (2) from the throttle body.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the TP sensor (2) on to the throttle body.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the TP sensor screws (3) to the throttle body.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the TP sensor screws to 2.3 N·m (20 lb in).

  5. Reinstall the Throttle Body Assembly. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement .
  6. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  7. Reinstall the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
