Did you perform the brake warning diagnostic system check?

  1. Verify that the park brake is disengaged.
  2. Turn on the ignition.

Is the PARK indicator illuminated?

--

  1. Disconnect the brake fluid level switch.
  2. Measure the resistance between the brake fluid level indicator switch harness connector terminal A and ground.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

  1. Disconnect the instrument panel cluster (IPC) connectors.
  2. Measure the resistance between the IPC connector C2 terminal B4 and ground.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Repair a short to ground in CKT 333 (PPL). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the brake fluid level sensor switch. Refer to Brake Fluid Level Indicator Switch Replacement .

  1. Perform the IPC diagnostic system check. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
  2. Replace the IPC if necessary. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
