  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Connect a scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
  3. Select Inputs from the driver door module (DDM) Data Display.
  4. Place the interior lamp switch in the AUTO position.
  5. Close all doors.
  6. Check the Driver Door Ajar Switch input.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Driver Door Ajar Switch is ON?

Check the Passenger Door Ajar Switch input.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Passenger Door Ajar input is ON?

  1. Select Non-HVAC Data from the instrument panel integration module (IPM) DATA DISPLAY.
  2. Place the interior lamp switch in the AUTO position.
  3. Check the Interior Lamp Switch input.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Interior Lamp Switch is ON?

Is the RIM replacement complete?

Does the scan tool indicate that the Driver Door Ajar Switch is OFF?

Does the scan tool indicate that the Driver Door Ajar Switch is OFF?

  1. Perform a function that turns on the courtesy lamps.
  2. After approximately 25 seconds, disconnect the LH rear door jamb switch connector.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Left Rear Door Ajar input is OFF?

DEFINITION: The FRT CTSY Relay in the rear junction block controls the overhead console courtesy, foot well courtesy, and all door courtesy lamps. During illuminated entry when a front door is opened, only the FRT CTSY Relay is activated. When a rear door is opened, both the FRT CTSY Relay and RR CTSY Relay are activated.

  2. Connect a DMM from the RIM connector C2 cavity A2 (DK BLU) to ground.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

  2. Reconnect the rear junction block connector C2.
  3. Replace the FRT CTSY Relay in the rear junction block.

DEFINITION: The RR CTSY Relay in the rear junction block controls the reading lamps in the rear headliner. During illuminated entry when a front door is opened, only the FRT CTSY Relay is activated. When a rear door is opened, both the FRT CTSY Relay and RR CTSY Relay are activated.
