J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.



2. Remove the front seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
3. Remove the center console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
4. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
5. Remove the rear carpet retainers. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement .
6. Using J 38778 remove the 4 retainers from the front and rear carpet overlap seam.
7. Disconnect the rear floor outlets from the air ducts.
8. Remove the rear carpet from the vehicle.

Caution: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.

1. Install the rear carpet into the vehicle.
2. Install the 4 retainers into the floor pan at the front and rear carpet overlap seam.
3. Connect the rear floor outlets to the air ducts.
4. Install the rear carpet retainers. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement .
5. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
6. Install the center console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
7. Install the front seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
