The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Customers may comment on any of the following conditions; click noise when Braking or on coast down; buzz noise cold when reverse is engaged; or tick noise during 2-3 or 3-2 shifts. This may be a broken or missing 2-3 accumulator pin E-clip. Use chassis ears clipped to the transmission side cover. If noise is present, remove side cover per SI instructions and inspect the 2-3 accumulator pin for the presence of an E clip to retain the pin.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If the E-clip is missing, replace the E- clip and 2-3 accumulator pin. Valve body replacement should not be required if the accumulator housing is not damaged.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
