Removal Procedure
  1. Place window in the full up position.
  2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 507065 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the outside door handle rod (1) from the door latch retainer clip (2).

    5. Object Number: 108010 Size: SH
  5. Remove the large plug (1) in order to access the outside door handle fastener.

    6. Object Number: 105439 Size: SH
  6. Remove the two fasteners (2) from the outside door handle (1).

    7. Object Number: 554972 Size: SH
  7. Remove the door handle assembly from the door in the following order:
    8. 7.1. Push upward on the two lower retaining tabs.
    7.2. Remove the handle, with the latch rod attached, by lifting up and out.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 105439 Size: SH
  1. Install the door handle assembly (1) into the door in the following order:
    2. 1.1. Insert the rod through the cutout.
    1.2. Rotate the handle into position.
    1.3. Apply up and inward pressure until the two lower retaining tabs on the handle engages into the door metal.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the outside door handle fasteners (2) through the access holes.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  3. Press the access plug (1) into the hole.

    4. Object Number: 105412 Size: SH
  4. Connect the outside door handle rod to the latch in the following order:
    5. 4.1. Insert the rod (1) into the retainer clip (2) on the door latch assembly.
    4.2. Close the clip (2).

            Important: Inspect for the proper operation of the door handle before installing the water deflector.

  5. Install the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  6. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
