Did you review the heated seat operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Verify that the Heated Seat Switch Low Indicator Malfunction - Rear complaint is present?

Does the rear heated seat switch low indicator operate as described in the system description and operation?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Is the LOW indicator of the rear heated seat switch always on?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the heated seat switch harness connector.
  2. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire from the ground terminal of the heated seat switch to a good ground.
  3. Momentarily connect a test lamp from battery positive voltage to the low indicator terminal of the heated seat switch.

Does the LOW indicator of the heated seat switch illuminate?

Test the rear heated seat low indicator control circuit between the heated seat switch and the rear door module for a short to ground or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the rear heated seat low indicator control circuit between the heated seat switch and the rear door module for a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the rear door module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the heated seat switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the rear door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement in Doors.
