Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 295134 Size: SH
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  3. Remove the ball stud from the telescoping actuator assembly.

    4. Object Number: 295132 Size: SH
  4. Remove the retaining bolts that secure the telescoping actuator assembly to the steering column.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connection to the telescoping actuator assembly.
  6. Remove the telescoping actuator assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 295132 Size: SH
  1. Install the telescoping actuator assembly to the steering column.

    2. Connect the electrical connection to the actuator assembly.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the retaining bolts to the actuator assembly.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  3. Install the bolt securing the actuator assembly to the column.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  4. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
