Console Replacement w/o UV8

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Set the parking brake.
  3. Remove the storage bins or the CD changer as needed. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement or Remote CD Changer Replacement in Entertainment.
  4. Remove the console trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement .
  5. Remove the left console trim panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  6. Remove the right console trim panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .
  7. Disconnect the shifter cable from the shifter. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement in Automatic Transaxle-4T80-E.
  8. Disconnect the park lock cable from the shifter. Refer to Park Lock Cable Replacement in Automatic Transaxle-4T80-E.

  10. Remove the cover (1) from the floor of the storage bin.

  11. Object Number: 105560  Size: SH
  12. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1,2,3) from the center console.
  13. Move both front seats to the rear in order to access the front console to floor fasteners.

  14. Object Number: 105564  Size: MH
  15. Remove the 2 fasteners (1) that secure the metal bracket arms to the floor.
  16. Remove the 2 nuts (2) from the console rear to the floor pan.

  17. Object Number: 105563  Size: SH
  18. Remove the 2 fasteners (2) from the console (1) to the lower instrument panel (I/P).
  19. Notice: When removing or installing the center console, do not allow the metal brackets to scrape the seats and damage the material.

  20. Lift up the rear of the console and slide the console rearward.
  21. Remove the center console from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the console assembly on the floor in the vehicle.
  2. Connect the console electrical connectors.
  3. Lift up on the rear of the center console and slide the center console (1) forward in order to align the front edges of the center console with the lower I/P.
  4. Place the rear of the center console (1) onto the rear studs.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the 2 fasteners (2) from the center console (1) to lower I/P.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners (2) to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the 2 nuts (2) to the floor studs in the center console compartment.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners (2) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  9. Install the fasteners (1) to the metal bracket arms on the console.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners (1) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  11. Connect the electrical connectors (1,2,3) on both sides of the console.

  13. Install the cover (1) to the floor of the storage bin.
  14. Install the park lock cable to the shifter. Refer to Park Lock Cable Replacement in Automatic Transaxle-4T80-E.
  15. Connect the shift cable to the shifter. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement in Automatic Transaxle-4T80-E.
  16. Install the left console panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  17. Install the right console panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .
  18. Install the console trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement .
  19. Install the storage bins or the CD changer as needed. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement or Remote CD Changer Replacement in Entertainment.
  20. Enable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.

Console Replacement w/ UV8

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Set the parking brake.
  3. Remove the console trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement .
  4. Remove the left console trim panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  5. Remove the right console trim panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .
  6. Disconnect the shift cable from the shift lever pin and the shift bracket. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement in Automatic Transaxle-4T80-E.
  7. Disconnect the park lock cable from the shifter. Refer to Park Lock Cable Replacement in Automatic Transaxle-4T80-E.

  9. Remove the storage bins or the CD changer. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement or Remote CD Changer Replacement in Entertainment.
  10. Remove the cover (1) from the floor of the storage bin.

  11. Object Number: 105560  Size: SH
  12. Disconnect the floor console electrical connectors (1,2,3).
  13. Move both front seats to the rear in order to access the front console to floor bolts.

  14. Object Number: 105564  Size: MH
  15. Remove the bolts (1) that secure the metal bracket arms to the floor.
  16. Remove the nuts (2) from the console rear to the floor pan.

  17. Object Number: 105563  Size: SH
  18. Remove the screws (2) from the console (1) to the lower instrument panel (I/P).

  19. Object Number: 820710  Size: SH
  20. Lift up the rear of the floor console to access the cellular phone connections.
  21. Disconnect the cellular phone electrical connector (1).
  22. Disconnect the cellular phone coaxial cable (2).
  23. Notice: When removing or installing the center console, do not allow the metal brackets to scrape the seats and damage the material.

  24. Lift up the rear of the console and slide the console rearward.
  25. Remove the floor console from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 820710  Size: SH

    Notice: When removing or installing the center console, do not allow the metal brackets to scrape the seats and damage the material.

  1. Partially install the floor console.
  2. Lift up the rear of the floor console to access the cellular phone connections.
  3. Connect the cellular phone electrical connector (1).
  4. Connect the cellular phone coaxial cable (2).

  5. Object Number: 105563  Size: SH
  6. Connect the floor console electrical connectors.
  7. Lift up on the rear of the floor console (1) and slide the console forward in order to align the front edges of the floor console with the lower I/P.
  8. Place the rear of the floor console onto the rear studs.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  9. Install the screws (2) through the floor console (1) to lower I/P.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the screws (2) to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  11. Install the nuts (2) to the studs.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts (2) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  13. Install the bolts (1).
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts (1) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  15. Connect the electrical connectors (1,2,3) on both sides of the console.

  17. Install the cover (1) to the floor of the storage bin.
  18. Install the park lock cable to the shifter. Refer to Park Lock Cable Replacement in Automatic Transaxle-4T80-E.
  19. Install the shift cable. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement in Automatic Transaxle-4T80-E.
  20. Install the left console trim panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  21. Install the right console trim panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .
  22. Install the console trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement .
  23. Install the storage bins or the CD changer as needed. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement or Remote CD Changer Replacement in Entertainment.
  24. Enable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
