Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1111822  Size: SH
  1. Manually open the folding top as shown in the illustration. Refer to Folding Top Manual Operation .
  2. The distance (A) from the windshield header to the leading edge of the folding top panel is 430 mm (17 in).

  3. Place a protective covering over the interior and the adjacent body panels.
  4. Remove the rear window garnish molding. Refer to Rear Window Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  5. Remove the rear window lower molding. Refer to Rear Window Lower Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  6. Remove the rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  8. With the aid of an assistant, support the front roof panel on the folding top to prevent the panel from swinging down when you remove the bolts.
  9. Remove the bolt (1) from the upper pivot link bracket (2).

  10. Using a grease pencil, mark the location of the folding top panel bolts (1) to the lower pivot link bracket (3).
  11. With the aid of an assistant, remove the bolts (1) from the folding top panel.
  12. Note the number and location of any shims (2).

  14. With the aid of an assistant remove the folding top panel (1).

Disassembly Procedure

  1. Remove the upper weatherstrip. Refer to Folding Top Rear Panel Upper Weatherstrip Replacement .
  2. Remove the lower weatherstrip. Refer to Folding Top Rear Panel Lower Weatherstrip Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear window. Refer to Rear Window Replacement in Stationary Windows.
  4. Remove the upper pivot link bracket. Refer to Folding Top Rear Panel Pivot Link Upper Bracket Replacement .

Assembly Procedure

  1. Install the upper pivot link bracket. Refer to Folding Top Rear Panel Pivot Link Upper Bracket Replacement .
  2. Install the rear window. Refer to Rear Window Replacement in Stationary Windows.
  3. Install the lower weatherstrip. Refer to Folding Top Rear Panel Lower Weatherstrip Replacement .
  4. Install the upper weatherstrip. Refer to Folding Top Rear Panel Upper Weatherstrip Replacement .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1228694  Size: SH
  1. With the aid of an assistant, position the folding top panel (1) to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 1228706  Size: SH
  3. Apply LOCTITE™ Blue, GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the bolts.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the bolts (1) to the upper pivot link bracket (2).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).


    Object Number: 1251435  Size: SH
  7. Apply LOCTITE™ Blue, GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the bolts.
  8. Install the bolts (1) to the lower pivot link bracket (3). Do NOT tighten the bolts.
  9. Install the same shims (2) in the original locations.
  10. Align the folding top panel bolts to the grease marks on the lower pivot link bracket.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).

  12. Manually close the folding top. Refer to Folding Top Manual Operation .
  13. Verify that the folding top panel is aligned properly. Refer to Folding Top Clearance Gap Specifications .
  14. If required, adjust the folding top panel. Refer to Folding Top Rear Panel Adjustment .
  15. Remove the protective covering.
  16. Cycle the folding top under power through one complete cycle in both directions.
  17. Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation .
  18. Install the rear quarter trim panels. Refer to Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  19. Install the rear window lower molding. Refer to Rear Window Lower Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  20. Install the rear window garnish molding. Refer to Rear Window Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
