Did you review the Radio/Audio Description and perform the necessary inspections?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the speaker connector.
  3. With a (DMM), measure the resistance of the speaker.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

4-15 ohms

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the radio or the sub-woofer amplifier supplying the inoperative speaker.
  2. With a DMM, measure the resistance at the inoperative speaker connector from cavity A to ground.

Is the resistance infinite?

With a DMM, measure the resistance at the speaker from cavity B to ground.

Is the resistance infinite?

Use a DMM in order to check both speaker feed wires for continuity between the speaker and the radio or sub-woofer amplifier.

Does continuity exist?

Repair the short to ground in the speaker feed circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
