Did you review power mirrors operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Inspect PWR MIR 5A fuse 21 for open.

Is the fuse open?

Go to Step 9

  1. Disconnect the outside rearview mirror control switch.
  2. Connect a test lamp from CKT 1740 (ORN) cavity H at the outside rearview mirror control switch to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

Locate and repair an open in CKT 1740 (ORN) between the outside rearview mirror control switch and the I/P fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 11

Connect a test lamp from CKT 1740 (ORN) cavity H to CKT 750 (BLK) cavity A at the outside rearview mirror control switch.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 6

  1. Disconnect the LH Outside Rearview Mirror.
  2. Using a DMM check for continuity in CKT 1496 (YEL) between the Outside Rearview Mirror Remote Control Switch and the LH Outside Rearview Mirror.

Is there continuity?

Go to Step 8

Locate and repair an open in CKT 750 (BLK) between the outside rearview mirror control switch and G110.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 11

Replace the outside rearview mirror control switch. Refer to Power Accessory Switch Panel Replacement

Locat and repair short to ground in CKT 1740 (ORN).

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair open in CKT 1496 between the Outside Rearview Mirror Remote Control Switch and S501.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 11

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
