Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 280261  Size: SH

    Important: Do not remove the instrument panel.

  1. Roll the instrument panel down. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel and Gauges.
  2. Remove the defroster duct grille from the instrument panel.
  3. Remove the windshield defroster duct retainers from the instrument panel.
  4. Remove the retaining screw on the instrument panel carrier.
  5. Remove the windshield defroster duct by rotating the duct downward and away from the instrument panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the windshield defroster duct to the instrument panel.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the retaining screw to the instrument panel carrier.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the retaining screw to the instrument panel carrier to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the windshield defroster duct retainers to the instrument panel.
  6. Install the defroster duct grille to the instrument panel.
  7. Roll the instrument panel up. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel and Gauges.
