  1. Turn the hazard flashers to the ON position.
  2. Observe the suspect stop/lamps

Do the suspect lamps light?

Go to Hazard Lamps Inoperative

  1. Disconnect the Brake Pedal Position switch.
  2. Connect a test lamp J 35616-200 from CKT 140 (ORN) cavity B at the Brake Pedal Position switch to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Connect a fused jumper from CKT 17 (WHT) cavity A to CKT 140 (ORN) cavity B of the Brake Pedal Position switch.

Do the stop lamps light?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Repair the open in CKT 140 (ORN) between the Brake Pedal Position switch and splice S221.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the Brake Pedal Position switch. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Replacement in Hydraulic Brakes.

Check for an open in CKT 17 (WHT) between the Brake Pedal Position switch and the turn/hazard switch.

Did you find an open?

Go to Step 8

Repair the open in CKT 17 (WHT) between the Brake Pedal Position switch and the turn/hazard switch.

Is the repair complete?
