Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the lock rod from the lock assembly to the lock control.
  3. Remove the lock rod from the lock cylinder to the lock control.
  4. Remove the lock rod from the outside handle to the lock control.
  5. Remove the lock control bolts (2).

  6. Object Number: 324173  Size: SH
  7. Remove the lock control (1) from the door.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 324173  Size: SH
  1. Install the lock control (1) to the door.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the lock control bolts (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the lock rod to the outside handle from the lock control.
  6. Ensure that the rod is positioned correctly in the adjustable rod clip.

  7. Install the lock rod to the lock cylinder from the lock control.
  8. Install the lock rods to the lock assembly from the lock control.
  9. Ensure that the rod is positioned correctly in the adjustable rod clip.

  10. Install the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
