Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
  3. Remove the upper access cover (cargo van). Refer to Access Cover Replacement - Cargo Van Upper

  4. Object Number: 324176  Size: SH
  5. Remove the lock rods (1) from the lock assembly (1 and 3).

  6. Object Number: 324177  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the lock (5).
  8. Remove the lock bolts (1).

  9. Object Number: 324178  Size: SH
  10. Remove the lock from the door (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 324178  Size: SH
  1. Install the lock to the door (2).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the lock bolts (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the lock bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector (5) to the lock.

  6. Object Number: 324176  Size: SH
  7. Install the lock rods (1 and 3).
  8. Install the upper access cover (cargo van).
  9. Install the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  10. Install the trim panel. Refer to Sliding Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
