Removal Procedure
- Raise the window to the closed position.
- Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
- Remove the water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .
- Remove the inside door lock rod (1) from the latch assembly.
- Remove the inside door handle rod from the latch assembly.
- Remove the outside door handle rod from the latch assembly.
- Disconnect the power actuator wiring connector, of equipped.
- Remove the fasteners that retain the latch assembly to the door.
- Remove the latch assembly from the door.
- Remove the lock actuator from the latch. Refer to Rear Side Door Lock Actuator Replacement .
Installation Procedure
- Install the lock actuator to the latch. Refer to Rear Side Door Lock Actuator Replacement .
- Install the latch assembly to the door.
- Install the fasteners that retain the latch assembly to the door.
- Connect the power actuator wiring connector, if equipped.
- Install the outside door handle rod to the latch assembly.
- Install the inside door handle rod to the latch assembly.
- Install the inside door lock rod (1) to the latch assembly.
- Install the water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .
- Install the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
