Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 870169 Size: SH
  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Slide the lower latch cover up the latch rod to access the latch rod retainer.

    3. Object Number: 870166 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the latch rod from retainer on the lower latch

    4. Object Number: 870167 Size: SH
  4. Remove the bolts retaining the lower latch to the door.
  5. Remove the lower latch bolt.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 870167 Size: SH
  1. Install the latch to the door.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the lower latch bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the lower latch bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).


    Object Number: 870166 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the latch rod from retainer on the lower latch.

    4. Object Number: 870169 Size: SH
  4. Slide the lower latch cover down the latch rod until it is retained on the latch bolt threads.
  5. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
