Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the high mount stoplamp (endgate window-mounted only). Refer to High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.

  2. Object Number: 756  Size: SH
  3. Open the endgate window.
  4. Mark the location of the endgate window hinges on the body for proper alignment at installation.
  5. Disconnect the rear window defogger connectors, if equipped.
  6. Remove the endgate window struts. Refer to Endgate Strut Replacement .
  7. Remove the bolts that retain the endgate window hinges to the vehicle.
  8. With an assistant, remove the endgate window from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 756  Size: SH
  1. With an assistant, align the hinges to the marks made at disassembly in order to install the endgate window to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts that retain the endgate window hinges to the vehicle.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  5. Install the endgate window struts. Refer to Endgate Strut Replacement .
  6. Connect the rear window defogger connectors, if equipped.
  7. Install the high mount stoplamp (endgate window-mounted only). Refer to High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
