Engine Coolant Fan Shroud Replacement Upper Shroud

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System .
2. Disconnect the (upper) radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement .
3. Remove the radiator inlet hose from the upper fan shroud.



4. Remove the upper fan shroud screws.
5. Remove the upper fan shroud.

1. Install the upper fan shroud to the vehicle.



2. Install the upper fan shroud attaching screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

Refer to Fastener Tightening Notice in General Information.

3. Install the radiator inlet hose to the upper fan shroud.
4. Connect the radiator inlet hose to the radiator.
5. Fill the cooling system to the proper level.
6. Start the engine and check for leaks.

Engine Coolant Fan Shroud Replacement Lower Shroud

1. Drain the engine coolant from the radiator. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System .



2. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .
3. Disconnect the heater hose from the radiator.
4. Raise the vehicle.
5. Disconnect the radiator outlet (lower) hose.
6. Disconnect the automatic transmission oil cooler lines from the radiator (if equipped).
7. Disconnect the engine oil cooler lines from the radiator (if equipped). Refer to Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Lift the lower fan shroud, just enough, to disengage the locating tabs from the radiator.
10. Remove the radiator from the vehicle. Refer to Radiator Replacement .
11. Remove the lower fan shroud from the vehicle.

1. Install the radiator in the vehicle, if removed. Refer to Radiator Replacement .
2. Place the lower fan shroud in the vehicle.

2.1.	Position the lower fan shroud against the radiator.

2.2.	Engage the three locating tabs by pushing down.

3. Connect the heater hose to the radiator.
4. Connect the coolant overflow hose to the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement .
5. Raise the vehicle.
6. Connect the engine oil cooler lines to the radiator. Refer to Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .
7. Connect the automatic transmission oil cooler lines to the radiator.
8. Connect the radiator outlet hose to the radiator.
9. Lower the vehicle.



10. Install the upper fan shroud to the lower fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .
11. Install the fan shroud attaching screws.

Tighten
Tighten the fan shroud attaching screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

12. Fill the cooling system to the specified level and concentration. Refer to Radiator Replacement .
13. Start the engine and check for leakage. Refer to Radiator Leak Testing (On and Off Vehicle) .
