The EBCM microprocessor initializes a self-test when the ignition is turned ON in order to verify that the EBCM microprocessor's internal circuitry is functioning correctly.
The ignition is ON.
The EBCM microprocessor detects an internal malfunction.

• | The ABS and DRP are disabled for the remainder of the ignition cycle. |
DTC C0271 and DTC C0272 cannot be cleared from the EBCM memory. The EBCM must be replaced if any of these DTCs is set.
Use a scan tool in order to clear the DTC.
Replace the EBCM if DTC C0273 continues to set intermittently.
