Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the seat back cover and pad. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement .
  3. Remove the seat cushion trim cover and pad. Refer to Seat Cushion Trim Cover and Pad Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 298952  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector for the seat back recliner motor, if equipped.
  6. Remove the bolts securing the seat back to the seat adjuster assembly.
  7. Remove the seat back.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat back to the seat adjuster assembly.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts securing the seat back to the seat adjuster assembly.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the seat back bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Connect the electrical connector for the seat back recliner motor, if equipped.
  6. Install the seat cushion trim cover and pad. Refer to Seat Cushion Trim Cover and Pad Replacement .
  7. Install the seat back cover and pad. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement .
  8. Install the seat in the vehicle. Refer to Seat Replacement .
