Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 392798  Size: SH
  1. Remove the sunroof console, if equipped. Refer to Driver Information Center Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the dome lamp. Refer to Dome Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  3. Remove the sunroof opening trim, if equipped, by grasping it at the edge and pulling it away from the headliner.
  4. Remove the coat hooks. Refer to Coat Hook Replacement .
  5. Remove the assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .
  6. Remove the sunshades and the retainers. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  7. Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  8. Remove the third pillar trim panels for 4-door models only. Refer to Third Pillar Trim Replacement .

  10. Remove the upper seat belt anchor bolts for 2-door models only.

  11. Object Number: 392833  Size: SH
  12. Remove the inside air temperature sensor grille.
  13. Remove the body side trim panel. Refer to Body Side Trim Panel Replacement .
  14. Remove the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
  15. Remove the headliner from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the headliner to the vehicle. New headliners must be pierced in order to accommodate actual vehicle accessories.
  2. Install the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
  3. Install the upper body side panel trim. Refer to Body Side Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Install the inside air temperature sensor grille.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the rear seat upper seat belt anchor bolts for 2-door models only.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

  8. Install the third pillar trim panels for 4-door models only. Refer to Third Pillar Trim Replacement .
  9. Install the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  10. Install the sunshades and the retainers. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  11. Install the assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .
  12. Install the coat hooks. Refer to Coat Hook Replacement .
  13. Install the sunroof opening trim, if equipped, by carefully pressing it into place.
  14. Install the dome lamp (if equipped). Refer to Dome Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  15. Install the overhead or sunroof console (if equipped). Refer to Driver Information Center Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
