Instrument Panel Compartment Door Latch Replacement RHD

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 2141382 Size: SH
  1. Remove the instrument panel insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side.
  2. Remove the instrument panel outer trim cover. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement.
  3. Remove the instrument panel compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement.
  4. Opening the instrument panel compartment door (1), remove the trim panel retention screws (3).
  5. Disengage and remove the trim panel (4) from the instrument panel compartment (2).

    6. Object Number: 2088402 Size: SH
  6. Using a suitable tool, disengage the latch retention tabs (1), expelling the latch assembly (2) from the trim panel (3).

Disassembly
  1. Remove the instrument panel compartment door lock cylinder latch retainer.
  2. Remove the instrument panel compartment door lock cylinder. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Lock Cylinder Replacement.

Assembly
  1. Install the instrument panel compartment door lock cylinder. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Lock Cylinder Replacement.
  2. Install the instrument panel compartment door lock cylinder latch retainer.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2088402 Size: SH
  1. Install the latch assembly (2) into the trim panel (3) engaging the retention tabs (1).

    2. Object Number: 2141382 Size: SH
  2. Engage the trim panel (4) onto the instrument panel compartment door  (1).
  3. Install the trim panel retention screws (3) into the instrument panel compartment (2).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the trim panel retention screws to 2.0 N·m (17.0 lb-in)

  4. Install the instrument panel compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement.
  5. Install the instrument panel outer trim cover. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement.
  6. Install the instrument panel insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side.
