Removal Procedure
  1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  2. Remove the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) lead from the transmission.

    3. Object Number: 104227 Size: SH
  3. Remove the vehicle speed sensor housing bolts.
  4. Remove the vehicle speed sensor housing.

    5. Object Number: 104229 Size: SH
  5. Remove the speed sensor housing.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 104229 Size: SH
  1. Install the speed sensor housing O-ring.
  2. Lubricate the O-ring with DEXRON®-IIE or DEXRON®-III.

    3. Object Number: 104227 Size: SH
  3. Install the speed sensor housing.
  4. Install the speed sensor bolts.
  5. Install the VSS lead to the transmission.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
