Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Remove the transmission bracket.
  3. Remove the valve body cover. Refer to Valve Body Cover Replacement .

  5. Disconnect the TCC wire from the case connector.

  6. Object Number: 104594  Size: SH
  7. Remove the control valve body bolts.

  8. Object Number: 104595  Size: SH
  9. Remove the control valve body from the oil pump.

  10. Object Number: 104601  Size: SH

    Important: Do not lose the check balls.

  11. Remove the oil pump assembly bolts.
  12. Remove the oil pump assembly from the case cover.

  14. Remove the oil pump drive shaft.

  16. Remove the control valve body spacer plate.
  17. Remove the spacer plate gaskets.

  19. Remove the case cover bolts.
  20. Remove the case cover.
  21. Install two 12 x 1.95 x 14 bolts in the dowel pin holes and tighten equally in order to pull the case cover loose.
  22. Inspect the drive link assembly. Refer to Drive Link Assembly Replacement .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 104604  Size: SH
  1. Install the case cover.
  2. Install the case cover bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the check balls into the case cover.

  6. Install the spacer plate gaskets.
  7. Install the control valve body spacer plate.

  8. Object Number: 104593  Size: SH
  9. Install the oil pump drive shaft.
  10. Install the check ball into the control valve assembly.

  11. Object Number: 104601  Size: SH
  12. Install the oil pump assembly to the case cover.
  13. Install the oil pump assembly bolts.

  14. Object Number: 104595  Size: SH
  15. Install the control valve body to the oil pump.

  16. Object Number: 104594  Size: SH
  17. Install the control valve body bolts.

  18. Object Number: 104602  Size: SH
  19. Connect the TCC wire to the case electrical connector.
  20. Install the valve body cover. Refer to Valve Body Cover Replacement .
  21. Install the transmission mount bracket.
  22. Connect the negative battery cable.
