Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Remove the transmission case side cover. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement .

  3. Remove the torque converter clutch (TCC) retainer clip from the TCC solenoid. Use a small screwdriver.

    4. Object Number: 104535 Size: SH
  4. Remove the TCC control solenoid from the control valve body.

    5. Object Number: 104537 Size: SH

    Important: Inspect the O-rings and the solenoid for any damage.

  5. Remove the TCC control solenoid O-rings. The TCC control solenoid has 2 O-rings.

  6. Remove the pressure control solenoid retainer from the pressure control solenoid.

  7. Remove the pressure control solenoid from the control valve body.

    Important: Inspect the O-rings and the solenoid for any damage.

  8. Remove the pressure control solenoid O-rings from the control valve body. The pressure control solenoid has 2 O-rings.

  9. Remove the shift solenoid retainers from the shift solenoids.

    10. Object Number: 104543 Size: SH
  10. Remove the shift solenoids from the control valve body.

    Important: Inspect the O-rings and the solenoid for any damage.

  11. Remove the shift solenoid O-rings. There are 2 shift solenoids, each shift solenoid has 1 O-ring.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 104545 Size: SH
  1. Install the shift solenoid O-rings. There are 2 shift solenoids, each shift solenoid has 1 O-ring.

    2. Object Number: 104543 Size: SH
  2. Install the shift solenoids to the control valve body.

    3. Object Number: 104541 Size: SH
  3. Install the shift solenoid retainers to the shift solenoids.

    4. Object Number: 104540 Size: SH
  4. Install the pressure control solenoid O-rings to the control valve body. The pressure control solenoid has 2 O-rings.

    5. Object Number: 104539 Size: SH
  5. Install the pressure control solenoid to the control valve body.

    6. Object Number: 104538 Size: SH
  6. Install the pressure control solenoid retainer to the pressure control solenoid.

    7. Object Number: 104537 Size: SH
  7. Install the TCC control solenoid O-rings. The TCC control solenoid has 2 O-rings.

    8. Object Number: 104535 Size: SH
  8. Install the TCC control solenoid to the control valve body.

    9. Object Number: 104534 Size: SH
  9. Install the TCC retainer clip to the TCC solenoid.
  10. Install the transmission case side cover. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement .
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12. Refill the transmission to the proper level.
