Rear License Plate Lamp Replacement Sedan and Coupe

1. Remove the license plate from the rear bumper fascia.
2. Remove the screws from the license plate lamp.
3. Remove the license plate lamp (1) from the rear bumper fascia.
4. Remove the bulb/socket from the license plate lamp (1) by turning counterclockwise.
5. Remove the bulb from the of socket.

1. Install the bulb to the socket.
2. Install the socket to the license plate lamp by turning the socket clockwise.
3. Install the license plate lamp (1) to the rear bumper fascia.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

4. Install the screws (3) to the license plate lamp.

Tighten
Tighten the license plate lamp screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

5. Install the license plate to the rear bumper fascia.

Rear License Plate Lamp Replacement Sunfire GT

1. Remove the rear compartment lid applique. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement in Body Rear End.
2. Remove the bulbs/sockets from the rear compartment lid applique by turning counterclockwise.
3. Remove the bulbs from the sockets.

1. Install the bulbs to the sockets.
2. Install the sockets to the rear compartment lid applique by turning sockets clockwise
3. Install the rear compartment lid applique. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement in Body Rear End.
