Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement .
  2. Remove the wire harness rosebuds from the hinge arm.
  3. Remove the compartment lid torque rods. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Torque Rod Replacement .
  4. Remove the rear panel window trim. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  5. Object Number: 284020  Size: SH
  6. Remove the compartment lid hinge bolts (3).
  7. Remove the compartment lid hinge (4).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 284020  Size: SH
  1. Install the compartment lid hinge (4).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the hinge bolts (3) to the rear window panel.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear compartment hinge to rear window panel bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the rear panel window trim. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  6. Install the compartment lid torque rods. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Torque Rod Replacement .
  7. Install the compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement .
  8. Install the wire harness rosebuds to the hinge arm.
  9. Adjust the compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment .
