Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the wire harness from the compartment lid applique. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement .
- Remove the compartment lid latch. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement .
- Remove the rear lid spoiler. Refer to Rear Spoiler Replacement .
- With an assistant remove the rear lid lock cylinder. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Lock Cylinder Replacement .
- With an assistant remove the compartment lid hinge bolts (1) from the rear compartment lid (3).
- With an assistant remove the compartment lid (3).
Important: Do not detach the remote release cable from the compartment lid latch.
Installation Procedure
- With an assistant install the rear compartment lid (3).
- With an assistant install the hinge bolts (1) to the rear compartment lid (3).
- Install the compartment lid latch. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement .
- Install the rear lid spoiler. Refer to Rear Spoiler Replacement .
- Install the rear lid lock cylinder. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Lock Cylinder Replacement .
- Connect the wire harness to the compartment lid applique. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement .
- Adjust the compartment lid as necessary. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the rear compartment hinge to lid bolts to 7 N·m
(62 lb in).
