Important: Store the parts in the order that they were removed, so that you can assemble the parts in the same location.
Important: If you are only replacing the pushrod, back off the valve rocker arm bolt until you can swing the valve rocker arm away from the pushrod.
Important: When installing the new valve rocker arms and the balls, coat the bearing surfaces with a high viscosity oil with zinc GM P/N 12345501 or an equivalent.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 54 N·m (40 lb ft).
