Removal Procedure
- Remove the governor throttle drive assembly. Refer to
Governor Throttle Drive Assembly Replacement
.
- Using your thumb, block the throttle cam lever at the 11 o'clock
position.
- Remove the governor drive motor attaching screws.
- Remove the governor drive
motor.
- Slowly release the throttle cam lever spring tension.
Installation Procedure
- Install the spring to
the governor drive lever using a spring hook.
Important: Align the motor drive lever and spring in order to ensure the correct
drive motor installation.
- Align the drive lever and spring.
- Rotate the throttle cam
lever clockwise until the cable barrel connection is at the 11 o'clock
position and block with thumb.
- Install the drive motor to the motor plate by aligning the mounting
holes.
- Tilt the motor slightly to allow the motor drive lever to clear
the casting.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the four
governor motor attaching screws coated with the appropriate thread-locking
compound.
Tighten
Tighten the attaching screws to 3.0 N·m (28 lb in).
- Inspect for the correct attachment of the motor drive lever spring.
The spring tension should increase as the motor drive lever is rotated clockwise.
When released, the motor drive lever should return to its park position
against the shock absorber.
- Install the governor throttle drive assembly. Refer to
