🢒 Clutch Cable Replacement
Removal Procedure
Remove the clutch cable (1) from the clutch pedal bracket.
Remove the clutch cable retainer (1) securing the clutch cable (2) to the floor panel.
Pull the clutch cable down through the cab floor.
Remove the strap (1) that secures the shift cable to the frame bracket (2).
For the 1.5 inch spline with 6.0L engine, remove the return spring from the transmission clutch lever.
For the push type single plate with 7.2L engine, remove the return spring from the transmission clutch lever.
Remove the nuts, the washers, and the clip securing the clutch cable to the transmission shift lever.
Remove the clutch cable from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Install the clutch cable to the vehicle.
Install the nuts, the washers, and the clip that secures the clutch cable to the transmission shift lever.
Do not tighten the nuts.
For the 1.5 inch spline with 6.0L engine, install the return spring from the transmission clutch lever.
For the push type single plate with 7.2L engine, install the return spring from the transmission clutch lever.
Install the strap (1) that secures the shift cable to the frame bracket.
Push the clutch cable in through the cab floor.
Install the clutch cable retainer (1) securing the clutch cable (2) to the floor panel.
Install the clutch cable (1) to the clutch pedal bracket.
Adjust the clutch cable. Refer to
