  1. Ensure the dimmer is in the maximum position.
  2. Turn the ignition OFF.
  3. Connect a scan tool.
  4. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  5. Using the scan tool, check for any DTCs in the body control module (BCM).

Does the scan tool show any DTCs?

Turn the park lamps ON.

Do the park lamps function properly?

--

Go to Step 3

Go to Park Lamps Inoperative

  1. Disconnect the component with inoperative VF display (radio or instrument cluster).
  2. Connect a test lamp from CKT 8 (GRY) to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Locate and repair the open in CKT 8 (GRY) between the component and the fuse.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Using a J 39200 DMM, measure the voltage from the 1382 (PPL/WHT) wire to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

8-12 V

Go to Step 6

Replace the component with inoperative VF display. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment In instrument cluster, refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1382 (PPL/WHT) component and the BCM.

If no open is found, replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Controls.
