Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement .
  3. Remove the radiator outlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement .
  4. Remove the fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .
  5. Remove the engine vent hose (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L engines).
  6. Remove the surge tank hose (4.3L engines).
  7. Disconnect the engine oil cooler lines. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .
  8. Disconnect the transmission oil cooler lines. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .

  10. Remove the radiator mounting bolts.

  11. Object Number: 363801  Size: SH
  12. Tilt the radiator towards the engine
  13. Remove the radiator by pulling the radiator from the support.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 363801  Size: SH
  1. Install the radiator by pushing the radiator and the rubber mounts into the radiator support .
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the radiator mounting bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the outlet heater hose.
  6. Connect the engine oil cooler lines. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .
  7. Install the fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .
  8. Install the surge tank hose (4.3L engines).
  9. Install the engine vent hose (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L engines).
  10. Install the radiator outlet hose. Refer to Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement .
  11. Install the radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement .
  12. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  13. Test the cooling system for leaks. Refer to Cooling System Leak Testing .
