2

Verify the fault is present.

Does the system operate normally?

--

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

3

  1. Remove the memory seat switch from door panel.
  2. Using a J 39200 digital multi-meter (DMM), measure the voltage on cavity H (fused battery positive voltage) to ground.

Does the J 39200 DMM read the specified value?

11-14V

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 8

4

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. With a J 39200 DMM, measure the ignition positive voltage on cavity G at inline connector C305.

Does the J 39200 DMM read the specified value?

11-14V

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 9

5

  1. Operate the Set, the RCL 1 and the RCL 2 positions of the memory seat switch.
  2. Measure the voltage at cavities E, F, and G of the memory seat switch while operating all switch selections.

Does the J 39200 DMM read the specified value?

11-14V

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 10

6

  1. Locate the inline connector C305 at the driver seat switch.
  2. With a J 39200 DMM, measure the voltage at cavities H, J, and K of connector C305 while operating all memory seat switch selections.

Does the J 39200 DMM read the specified value on the respective circuits?

11-14V

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 11

7

Replace the memory seat module located under the seat cushion. Refer to Memory Seat Control Module Replacement .

Go to Step 13

--

11

  1. Ensure the memory seat switch is disconnected.
  2. Disconnect the inline connector C305 at driver seat.
  3. With a J 39200 DMM, measure the continuity at cavity H (memory seat switch signal - set), cavity J (memory seat switch signal - memory 1) and cavity K (memory seat switch signal - memory 2) between the memory seat switch and connector C305.

Is continuity present on the respective circuits?

--

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 12

12

Repair open or short to ground on the memory seat switch signal set circuit, the memory seat switch signal memory 1 circuit or the memory seat switch signal memory 2 circuit. Refer to Testing for Short to Ground in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?
