Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing, and Jacket - Assemble - Off Vehicle Column Shift

Assembly Procedure

    Object Number: 361735 Size: SH
  1. Install the the lower steering shaft (1).
  2. Install the adapter and bearing assembly (2).
  3. Install the steering column seal (3).

    4. Object Number: 361734 Size: SH
  4. Install the gearshift lever assembly support bracket (1).
  5. Install the park lock cable assembly (3).
  6. Install the 3 flat head 6-lobed socket tapping screws (2).

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the electrical BTSI actuator.
  8. Install the gear shift lever and put the column in the neutral position.

  9. Adjust the electrical BTSI actuator.
    10. 9.1. Pull the tab (1) out on the block side (2) of the electrical BTSI actuator.
    9.2. Press on the adjuster block (2) to compress the internal adjuster spring to disengage the adjuster teeth. Slide the adjuster block as far away from the solenoid as possible.
    9.3. Lock in place by pushing the tab (1) back in.
  10. Inspect the electrical BTSI actuator.
    11. 10.1. The electrical BTSI actuator must lock the gear shift lever when it is put into the park position.
    10.2. When the column is installed in the vehical you will not be able to shift the gear shift lever out of the park position without pressing on the brake pedal. The solenoid will be energized.
    10.3. Readjust if needed.
  11. Install the turn signal. Refer to Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle Turn Signal and Multifcn Sw Assembly - Assemble (Column Shift).
  12. Install the lock module assembly. Refer to Electronic Column Lock Module - Assemble - Off Vehicle Electronic Column Lock Module - Assemble (Column Shift).

Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing, and Jacket - Assemble - Off Vehicle Floor Shift

Assembly Procedure

    Object Number: 361735 Size: SH
  1. Install the the lower steering shaft (1).
  2. Install the adapter and bearing assembly (2).
  3. Install the steering column seal (3).
  4. Install the turn signal. Refer to Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle Turn Signal and Multifcn Sw Assembly - Assemble (Floor Shift).
  5. Install the lock module assembly. Refer to Electronic Column Lock Module - Assemble - Off Vehicle Electronic Column Lock Module - Assemble (Floor Shift).
