Preliminary Procedures

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
2. Remove the floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
3. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
4. Remove the I/P upper trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
5. Lower the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .

Instrument Panel Retainer Assembly

Tip
Remove the HVAC air ducts.

Instrument Panel Retainer Bolt (Qty: 4)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

Instrument Panel Retainer Screw (Qty: 17)

Tighten
2.2 N·m (20 lb in)

Instrument Panel Retainer Nut (Qty: 8)

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)
