Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 33419-A Radiator Core Remover/Installer

  1. Remove the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement . Lay the radiator on a flat surface.
  2. Pry open the clinch tabs on the side tank, except the tabs under the inlet, the outlet, and the filler necks, using J 33419-A . Lift the tabs only enough to remove the oil cooler.
  3. Remove and discard the side tank gasket.
  4. Remove the oil cooler gaskets.
  5. Remove the oil cooler from the right outlet tank.
  6. Clean all the dirt and old rubber from the header and gasket groove.
  7. Clean the sealing edge of the plastic tank.
  8. Inspect the header gasket surface and the tank flange for leakage. Clean or repair the surface in order to remove any dirt, burrs, and bumps.

Installation Procedure

Tools Required

J 33419-A Radiator Core Remover/Installer

  1. Install the oil cooler to the outlet tank.
  2. Install the oil cooler gaskets.
  3. Install the outlet tank to the radiator using J 33419-A .
  4. Install the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement .
