Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement Driver

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 95668  Size: SH
  1. Remove the console. Refer to Console Replacement .
  2. Remove the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
  3. Remove the driver knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement .
  4. Release the ignition switch and hazard warning switch wiring harness retainers from the driver knee bolster bracket.
  5. Important: The following step must be performed to assure proper trim fits during installation.

  6. Mark the location of the driver knee bolster bracket. Refer to Instrument Panel Disassembly Precautions .
  7. Remove the bolts retaining the driver knee bolster bracket to the steering column bracket.
  8. Remove the driver knee bolster bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 95668  Size: SH
  1. Install the driver knee bolster bracket into position as marked prior to removal.
  2. Install the bolts retaining the driver knee bolster bracket to the steering column bracket.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the driver knee bolster bracket bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Secure the ignition switch and hazard warning switch wiring harness retainers to the driver knee bolster bracket.
  5. Install the driver knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement .
  6. Install the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
  7. Install the console. Refer to Console Replacement .

Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement Driver Outer

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 95667  Size: SH
  1. Remove the console. Refer to Console Replacement .
  2. Remove the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
  3. Remove the driver knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement .
  4. Important: The following step must be performed to assure proper trim fits during installation.

  5. Mark the location of the driver knee bolster outer bracket. Refer to Instrument Panel Disassembly Precautions .
  6. Remove the bolts mounting the driver knee bolster outer bracket to the steering column bracket.
  7. Remove the driver knee bolster outer bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 95667  Size: SH
  1. Install the outer driver knee bolster bracket into position as marked prior to removal.
  2. Install the driver knee bolster outer bracket to steering column bracket bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the driver knee bolster outer bracket bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.   6. Install the console. Refer to Console Replacement .

Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement Passenger

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 95682  Size: SH
  1. Remove the console. Refer to Console Replacement .
  2. Remove the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
  3. Remove the driver knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement .
  4. Remove the I/P passenger compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
  5. Remove the I/P upper trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement .
  6. Important: The following step must be performed to assure proper trim fits during installation.

  7. Mark the location of the passenger knee bolster bracket. Refer to Instrument Panel Disassembly Precautions .
  8. Remove the bolts retaining the passenger knee bolster bracket to the I/P center support bracket.

  9. Object Number: 95671  Size: SH
  10. Remove the bolts retaining the passenger knee bolster bracket to the passenger SIR bracket.
  11. Remove the passenger knee bolster bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 95671  Size: SH
  1. Install the passenger knee bolster bracket as marked prior to removal.
  2. Install the passenger knee bolster bracket to passenger SIR bracket retaining bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the passenger knee bolster bracket retaining bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the passenger knee bolster bracket to I/P center support bracket retaining bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the passenger knee bolster bracket retaining bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the I/P upper trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement .
  7. Install the I/P passenger compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
  8. Install the driver knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement .
  9. Install the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
  10. Install the console. Refer to Console Replacement .
