Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 71222 Size: SH
  1. Remove the seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Power with Adjuster or Manual Seat Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 172293 Size: SH
  2. Remove the seat cushion trim cover. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 71219 Size: SH
  3. Remove the nuts and the release cables from the hinge bolts.
  4. Remove the hinge bolts.
  5. Lay the seatback down.
  6. Remove the front actuator E clip and pin.
  7. Remove the recliner cable from the actuator.
  8. Remove the E clip from the rear pin.
  9. Raise the seatback and remove the actuator rear pin.
  10. Remove the actuator.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 71219 Size: SH
  1. Position the hinge to the actuator with the arrow on the hinge pointed forward.
  2. Install the rear pin and the E clip.
  3. Install the recliner cable with the tab up to the actuator.
  4. Install the front pin and the E clip.
  5. Install the hinge bolts.
  6. Install the release cable and nut to the right and left hinge bolt.

    7. Use a thread locking compound on the hinge bolts.

    Tighten
    Tighten the hinge bolt nuts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the seat foam and seat cushion trim cover. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement .

    8. Object Number: 71215 Size: SH
  8. Install the seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Power with Adjuster or Manual Seat Replacement .
