Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 71215 Size: SH
  1. Remove the seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Power with Adjuster or to Manual Seat Replacement .
  2. For vehicles with a base seat, remove the adjuster adjustment bar.

    3. Object Number: 172293 Size: SH
  3. Remove the seat cushion cover. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement .
  4. Remove the seat cushion foam.

    5. Object Number: 71218 Size: SH
  5. For vehicles with a sport seat, remove the lumbar air hose connectors.
  6. Remove the seat belt harness from the left seat frame.
  7. For vehicles with a sport seat, remove the seat control module.

    8. Object Number: 63768 Size: SH
  8. Remove the buckle side of the seat belt.

    9. Object Number: 71217 Size: SH
  9. Remove the bolts mounting the seat to the adjuster.
  10. Remove the adjuster.
  11. Transfer parts as necessary.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 71217 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the adjusters to the seat.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the adjuster bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  2. For vehicles with non-power seats, align the adjusters with their locking pawls engaged in the same slots side to side.
  3. Install the seat adjuster adjustment bar.
  4. For the sport seat, install the lumbar pump.

  5. Connect the seat belt harness to the left seat.
  6. For the sport seat, install the seat control module to the seat spring wire.
  7. For the sport seat, connect the lumbar air hose connectors.

    8. Object Number: 172296 Size: SH
  8. Install the foam to the seat frame.
  9. Install the seat cushion cover. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement .

    10. Object Number: 63768 Size: SH
  10. Install the seat belt buckle side and attach the mounting nut.

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  11. Install the seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Power with Adjuster or to Manual Seat Replacement .
  12. If the vehicle is equipped with memory seats, calibrate the seat. Refer to Memory Seat Calibration .
