Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 64691  Size: SH
  1. Remove the appropriate headlamp assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Headlamp Assembly Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the headlamp wiring harness electrical connectors from the headlamp bulbs.
  3. Important: Take note of the linkage-to-motor relationship for reassembly.

  4. Remove the nut retaining the headlamp assembly pivot arm to the headlamp motor/actuator.
  5. Remove the three bolts mounting the motor to the headlamp assembly.
  6. Remove the headlamp motor/actuator.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the motor/actuator into position on the headlamp assembly.
  2. Install the pivot arm to the motor.
  3. Place the pivot arm in the position noted prior to removal.

  4. Loosely install the nut retaining the headlamp assembly pivot arm to the motor/actuator.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the three bolts mounting the headlamp motor/actuator to the headlamp assembly.
  7. Tighten

        • Tighten the headlamp motor/actuator mounting bolts to 6.8 N·m (60 lb in).
        • Tighten the headlamp motor/actuator to pivot arm nut to 5.6 N·m (50 lb in).
  8. Install the headlamp assembly to the vehicle. Refer to Headlamp Assembly Replacement .
  9. Connect the headlamp wiring harness electrical connectors to the headlamp bulbs.
